Reflections on family, fear, conformity, and what is next in the new decade of the 70s are delivered with a thoughtful Scott Walker quality over a polished country pop soundtrack. Taking its title from a cover of the Lovin’ Spoonful’s “The Younger Generation,” stand out tracks include “Black Skies” and “The Children.”

Rex Allen, Jr. is the son of Rex Allen, the country music singer who scored seven country hits between 1949 and 1968, the biggest of which was 1953's "Crying in the Chapel," which crossed over to number eight in the pop chart.
